The Park Hyatt Guangzhou Hotel Review

A Calm Escape Above the City

This review is independent and not sponsored

I personally visited this hotel and share my experience with complete honesty

GOWITHROMEO RATING: 9.3/10
AVG. NIGHTLY RATE: $400

Park Hyatt is one of Hyatt’s top luxury brands and the Park Hyatt Guangzhou fits that image very well. The hotel sits on the upper floors of a tall tower in Zhujiang New Town and feels calm from the moment you reach the 65th floor lobby. I remember looking out of the tall windows and thinking, this is exactly the kind of hotel I love. Quiet. Stylish. Peaceful. A place that makes you slow down without even trying.

I was upgraded to a suite during check in, and I also received a $100 dollar food and beverage credit through my GoWithRomeo VIP perks. Those touches made my stay feel personal right from the beginning.

LOCATION

9/10

The hotel is in Zhujiang New Town. This area is modern and clean with tall buildings, wide sidewalks and a lot of energy. The hotel sits just behind the International Finance Center and close to Huacheng Square.

Getting around was easy. DiDis were quick. The metro was walkable. Most places I wanted to visit were a short ride away. At night, the view of the Canton Tower, the river, and the city from the hotel felt like a highlight all on its own. It glows in different colors and you can see it from so many angles of the property. It became something I looked forward to every evening.

AMENITIES

9.5/10

GYM 9/10 The gym was better than I expected. It felt bright as soon as I walked in, with big windows looking out over the city. The equipment was clean and modern, and everything was easy to use. It never felt crowded, and the overall vibe made working out very enjoyable. Right next door, the changing rooms were even nicer. They had a private hot tub, a steam sauna and showers, all with great views of the city. It made the whole workout experience feel a lot more relaxing and complete.

SPA The spa has a warm and peaceful atmosphere. The lighting is soft, the hallways feel quiet and the treatment rooms look inviting. Even without a treatment, walking through the spa instantly slowed down my pace. It is one of the most relaxing parts of the hotel.

POOL 10/10 The pool on the 63rd floor is unforgettable. You walk through a beautiful entrance, step into the pool area and the first thing you see is the Canton Tower through huge windows. Swimming while looking out at the skyline felt surreal. I sat by the hot tube afterward and watched the city move from below.

OTHER The hotel has several dining options that make it easy to enjoy good meals without going far. The Living Room is bright during the day and cozy at night, making it a comfortable place for tea, a light meal and skyline views. Yue Jing Xuan serves refined Cantonese dishes with warm service and balanced flavors, and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The Roof Bar is one of the highlights. Located on the 70th floor, it offers incredible views of the Canton Tower and the city. It is the perfect place for a drink before ending the night.

ROOM

10 /10

The suite upgrade changed the whole stay. The space felt calm and comfortable, almost like a small home above the city. The living room had floor to ceiling windows with wide views, plus a dining table and sofas that made the space feel warm and easy to use. The bedroom felt relaxed and inviting. The simple, clean design made the whole suite feel organized and comfortable. The bathroom stood out right away. The deep soaking tub was perfect at the end of the day, and the shower had strong water pressure. There were double sinks, warm lighting and plenty of room to move around. It felt like having a private spa in the room, and I ended every night with a bath while looking at the city lights. The closet was big, organized and easy to use, with more than enough space for everything.

BREAKFAST

9/10

Breakfast at the Park Hyatt Guangzhou was a calm and easy way to start the day. The dining room felt bright in the morning and the setup made it simple to choose whatever I was in the mood for. There was a mix of Western dishes like eggs, waffles, pastries and fresh fruit, but I ended up going back to the Chinese options most days. The dim sum, steamed buns, noodles and soups were fresh, flavorful and prepared really well.

THINGS TO DO

Guangzhou has plenty to see, and several highlights are easy to reach from the Park Hyatt Guangzhou.

Three of the best include:

Visit Canton Tower (15 minute walk): Head over to Guangzhou’s most famous landmark for some of the best views in the city. You can go up during the day for clear skyline shots or visit at night when the tower lights up in full color.

VERDICT

My stay at the Park Hyatt Guangzhou felt calm and genuinely enjoyable from start to finish. The views were beautiful, the suite was comfortable and the whole property had a peaceful energy that made it easy to relax after long days out. The upgrade and the 100 dollar food and beverage credit through GoWithRomeo added a thoughtful touch that made the stay feel personal.
